The wellbeing benefits of green tea
Green tea is one of the most studied botanicals in the world of natural wellbeing. Rich in catechins — particularly EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) — it offers a broad range of evidence-informed benefits.
- Antioxidant support — catechins are among the most potent plant antioxidants, helping to protect cells from oxidative stress and support long-term cellular health
- Calm, focused energy — green tea contains L-theanine, an amino acid that works synergistically with caffeine to promote alert, relaxed focus without the jitteriness of coffee
- Metabolic support — EGCG has been associated in research with supporting healthy metabolism and energy balance
- Gut health — polyphenols in green tea support the growth of beneficial gut bacteria and a healthy digestive environment
- Skin health — the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of green tea catechins are associated with supporting healthy, resilient skin from within

How to brew this
Add one heaped teaspoon to your teapot or infuser. Use water at around 70–80°C — a quarter cold water added to your teapot works perfectly. Steep for 2–3 minutes. Avoid boiling water, which can make green tea bitter.
Pairs beautifully with the Teapot for One and Perfect Tea Scoop.
