Who they are

Banks-Lyon Botanical has family at its very core. In 1887, founder Katie’s great, great grandfather opened his first retail store on Church Street, Lancaster — a shop that became synonymous with quality, customer service and family values, and is still run by her father today.

Four generations later, Katie grew up with very sensitive skin and struggled to find high street products free from chemicals and preservatives that still offered the luxurious, spa-like experience she was looking for. After many hours of experiments around the kitchen table with her husband Simon, Banks-Lyon Botanical was born. From their offices in Ramsbottom — in the beautiful countryside at the outer reaches of Manchester — they began wrapping, bottling and mixing an ever-changing array of natural bath and skincare products. What started as soap loaves sold to friends and family quickly outgrew the kitchen table, and the spare room.

Everything Banks-Lyon Botanical makes is handcrafted in small batches, packed with the best ingredients nature has to offer and wrapped in luxurious packaging that reflects the love that went into making it. Their range spans bath and skincare for women, men and babies — including their Mini Organics range, formulated specifically to support little ones’ wellbeing and designed to ease that bath-to-bed transition for both baby and parent.

Their ethos is uncompromising: Fairtrade sourcing, a firm commitment to sustainability, and every product approved by Cruelty Free International. Never tested on animals. Always made by hand.
